It was a few weeks ago we were up in Auckland, all dressed up ready for the Best Design Awards. The Best Design Awards is a design awards evening where people celebrate New Zealand’s best graphic design, spatial design and product design.
We were sitting at the Callaghan Innovation table near the front, with a great view of the stage and the many boxes on pins on the awards table. We were very excited to see what the Best Awards night would hold for us here at the Misprint Co.
As the awards were starting to be announced we struggled to hear the categories being read out over the buzz of what seemed like thousands of people talking. However, we finally got to the Sustainable Product Design category, which we were finalists in. We waited with baited breath to see if we were to win a placing. To our surprise, our name popped up under bronze! We were elated to see our company's name up there, we were the only bronze winners of the category. There was no silver place but Allbirds took home gold, so we had some stiff competition.
We waited a bit longer to hear if we’d won anything in Consumer Product Design, which we were also finalists for. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be the case but we were happy to have walked away being a finalist in that category.
Winning bronze is such an achievement for us. We can now add our bronze award to our awards wall at work, joining our Pride in Print Gold award.
The Best Design Awards was a great way to finish off an otherwise great week in Auckland after doing sales meeting with some awesome companies up there.
